Pinterest web analytics

Last night Pinterest announced that it was introducing web analytics. You need a verified account to use the feature.

A big difference between Facebook or Twitter on the one hand and Pinterest on the other hand is what we might call the "commercial intent" of its users. Pinterest is not aimed a connecting with friends and relatives or sharing your thoughts with the world in 140 characters. Instead it's a tool to collect and organize the things you love. And a lot of that activity is apparently a precursor to buying things for many Pinterest users.

The addition of analytics makes the Pinterest more marketer friendly and provides insights into activity and interaction with boards and images on the site.
